In today's lesson we looked at an example discussing the number of international college students studying in the United States (Guided Practice #2 on p.378). Using the polynomial given in the Guided Practice we predicted that there would be ≈2.2 million international college students studying in the United States.
However this
USA Today article from November 14, 2011 states that "The number of international students at U.S. colleges and universities
rose 4.7% to 723,277 during the 2010-11 academic year, says an annual
report by the Institute of International Education (IIE), which has
tracked data since 1949."
